Family Connections • Visitacion Valley Family Resource Center

We are very excited to share that Family Connections is launching programs in a third family resource center, located in the Visitacion Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. Housed inside The Village at 1099 Sunnydale Avenue, families can access more of our multilingual, multigenerational early childhood education and family support services.

Our Visitacion Valley Programs

Early Childhood Education

Tummy Time
Babies 0–18 months old and a parent/caregiver
Tuesdays, 9:30 – 11:00 am

  • Each playgroup includes songs, stories, and fun activities that support children’s healthy attachment with others

  • Parents/caregivers learn how to nurture their child’s social, emotional, and motor skill development

  • Class participants build connections with other families with young children

  • Register here • Registration opens at 9 am on the 28th of each month

  • Begins August 20!

First Steps
Toddlers 18–36 months and a parent/caregiver
Thursdays, 9:30 – 11:00 am

  • Families work together on projects to support their healthy bonding and attachment

  • Teachers provide multilingual support so children can develop cognitive and emotional skills and build friendships with other children

  • Activities include free play time, literacy education, arts and crafts, dancing, cooking classes, nature-based learning, and games

  • Register here • Registration opens at 9 am on the 28th of each month

  • Begins August 22!

Family Support Services

Caregiver Support

  • Our Caregiver Groups provide a welcoming space for caregivers to discuss concerns with one another, explore parenting and child development topics, and grow their network of support

  • We provide assistance with school supplies, childcare items, food access, and more for families in need

Parent Advisory Board

  • Our Advisory Board is a forum for participants to build their leadership skills and help guide our programs and services

Community Celebrations

  • Family Nights and community events are fun opportunities for families to celebrate cultural traditions, connect with neighbors, and access local resources

Workshops & Parenting Classes

  • Workshops are free and offered on various topics including children’s developmental stages, modeling positive behavior, strategies to advocate for you and your child, skills to promote school readiness at home, and health and wellness

A Collaboration with 

Family Connections is joining forces with our neighbors and partners at FACES SF. Our two organizations will work together to ensure families can access case management services, workforce development programs, basic needs assistance, and more. Together, we’ll host fun Family Nights for Viz Valley families to celebrate and build community.
