a space for children to explore, grow, and flourish

Our Pre-K Programs nurture children and support healthy social-emotional and academic development.

Family Connections’ preschools are Early Learning For All (ELFA) centers with the SF Department of Early Childhood, which provides free or subsidized childcare and preschool to families that qualify. We work with Wu Yee and Children’s Council on ELS applications and eligibility.

To enroll in Family Connections’ Pre-K programs, families must be San Francisco residents and meet income eligibility for the Fully Funded tuition tier. Fully Funded Tuition: Available to families earning up to 110% of the Area Median Income (AMI), with no tuition charges.

ELFA benefits are portable and remain in place until a child ages out of early education.

Policies & Admission Information

Our Pre-K program follows the SFUSD academic calendar, including holidays and school closures, except for Summer Break. We offer a year-round program with a brief break between sessions.

Hours: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–4:00 PM

Our Pre-K programs are offered for children ages 3-5, with an Early Learning for All (ELFA) voucher. We require that all children be fully potty-trained before enrolling with us.

Early Learning for All (ELFA) is a publicly funded program that helps eligible families access early childhood education at no cost. Our team can support families through the application and enrollment process.

Family Connections prioritizes enrollment for low-income families that reside in San Francisco. This includes families that enroll using vouchers from Early Learning San Francisco. Tuition is fully covered for eligible families with an approved ELFA voucher.

We are available to assist your family with applications for these voucher programs. Please contact us to learn more.

As a licensed childcare facility, our agency maintains health and safety standards that meet or exceed general public guidelines. We require all staff, program participants, and regular visitors to be up to date on required childhood and routine vaccinations, including measles, chickenpox, and other standard immunizations.

While COVID-19 vaccination is no longer a prerequisite, we continue to follow current recommended public health guidance as needed.

Family Connections Centers operates licensed childcare centers. All teachers and administrative staff are credentialed in adherence to the guidelines and protocols of community care licensing. This includes education units, degrees, certification (i.e., CPR, First Aid, Pesticides, etc.), professional development training, background checks, and more.

To begin the process, you should complete our Pre-K Interest Form, and you will be placed on a waitlist. Once a space becomes available, a staff member will be in touch with enrollment details and the next steps to secure your EFLA voucher. You can also confirm eligibility on the Department of Early Childhood’s Early Learning website.
